Sexy Buxom Lips Giveaway

[tweetmeme source=”socialitedreams” only_single=false]

Hey loves!  It’s giveaway time again 😀  Plump, full, sexy lips are ever popular and I want to be your fairy godmother of sorts, gifting you with an enviable pucker.

Bare Escentuals has debuted their “Buxom” line and the lip products are divine!  I felt like a kid in a candy store while at Sephora, applying the creamy lipstick to my hand to try out the colors, testing out the lipgloss and finding that it’s tingly and provides great shine while plumping up your pout for purely kiss worthy lips!  So to share the wealth, I am giving away TWO Buxom Lip Glosses to some lucky readers of mine 🙂

The colors that I have are “Melonie” which is a sheer hot pink and “Margarita” which is a sheer raspberry.

To win, leave a comment letting me know which of the two colors you’d want to have AND you must do the following:

-Follow this blog, via Bloglovin’ or with the email subscription button in the column to the left (let me know you’ve done that in the same comment where you say which color you’d like)

Easy right?  You can also tweet about this contest and get an EXTRA entry if you’ve done the above! “Enter the Sexy Buxom Lips lipgloss contest at http://tinyurl.com/2g3ccb2 compliments of @socialitedreams ”

Ice Cold Blue

Today was one of those days where I didn’t like my hair.  All day I’d planned on washing it with my new tingle tree shampoo by trader joes, deep conditioning with aubrey organics honeysuckle rose, then just twisting it up and not thinking about it.  Of course, I procrastinated and that led to it being 6:30 and a friend asking did I want to go out to a basketball game and then drinks.  OH NOES, not with this head of dry hair that I am not feeling today.  Commence bargaining and pleas and now I find myself having to go out with less than stellar hair…So, what is a girl to do?  MAKE-UP!

Honestly, if the hair isn’t how I want it to be, why not just have fun with the makeup, throw on a headband, and chuck up the deuces?  That is precisely what I decided to do, after moisturizing with a bit of Qhemet Amla/Olive heavy cream so that I don’t completely resemble a tumbleweed.  So now I find myself with iPod on full volume (and I take it as a sign that even though the music is on random, one of the first songs to come blaring out was P.Y.T. by Michael Jackson, my ultimate good mood jam.  So really, who am I to ignore the signs?)

Makeup look for the evening:  Make Up For Ever HD foundation in Cognac #177, Love Life blush by Victoria’s Secret, Diorshow Mascara in Black, and the L’Oreal HIP duo in Showy along with a purple lipgloss that the name has rubbed off of, but I believe is by L’Oreal as well. I didn’t bother with eyeshadow primer potion or anything, because I’m just going to the game and don’t need it to last all day because it’s already 8pm.  Voila, pick-me-upper of the day 😀

Don’t Believe the Hype

This post is inspired by Afrobella’s post concerning the hype around Carol’s Daughter products. We all have favorite products, often times purchased because we heard our favorite celebrity has it or know bloggers who rave about it, or the company just has a strong following *cough* MAC *cough*.

Then, once purchased, even if it doesn’t live up to what it should, we often overlook it because we have it so ingrained that it works! Some products that I used to buy, just because I convinced myself that they worked fabulously, are MAC lipglosses…They can be quite sticky and annoying, but just because they were my first introduction to something other than drugstore makeup, I stuck to them for years without even trying other brands. Then, there’s the Great Lash by Maybelline that always wins as consumer choice and makeup artists rave about it, etc etc. That stuff is WHACK. I mean, it’s nothing special, nothing to win accolades. I like the pink and green packaging, but that product is #1 in my book as having completely benefitted from WAY too much hype.

What are some of the products that you think have succeeded from too much hype? What are some that you brainwashed yourself into thinking was awesome, even with all signs pointing to “Oh hell no!”?
